Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Richelle's passion for art and drawing began as a child. She received her formal training in fine art at Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri. and graduated in 1982, already having been hired several months earlier as an illustrator in the advertising department of a major corporation. After several years there, she decided to work on her own and, in 1987, began to freelance, producing illustration and design artwork for many clients, both locally and nationally. Also during this time, she taught several Fashion Illustration workshop sessions as a guest artist at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
In
1997, she developed a profound interest in architecture
and began to focus her energy and talent to specialize
exclusively in house portraits, creating truly beautiful
works in watercolor and pen & ink. Her extensive
portfolio contains a wide variety of properties
- grand, medium and small - as well as commercial
buildings, schools and churches. She also has donated
her artwork to many worthwhile charities and organizations
in the St. Louis area.Her
eye for detail, along with a true artist's sense
of aesthetics and beauty, make her portraits truly
special.
"My
goal is to create a beautiful representation of
each home, which captures its distinctive character
and charm as well. It is so gratifying when I receive
phone calls and notes from recipients who let me
know how pleased and touched they are by their house
portraits. It's a good feeling to know I provide
a personal and meaningful piece of art that brings
joy and special memories to its owner."
Richelle
